The reds (Liverpool) were in charge of their Champions League quarter-final first leg match against the Eagles (Benfica FC) on Tuesday as Sadio Mane, Ibrahima Konate and Luis Diaz handed them a 3-1 lead after the first leg in Lisbon.

Konate’s nod earned him his first Liverpool goal from a corner before Mane tapped home to pave way for Liverpool to be in control of the game at the Estadio da Luz.

However, a Konate error in the 49th minute gave the lively Darwin Nunez to shake the net for Benfica to earn a goal, but Luis Diaz, who was superb all night, added a late third to put Liverpool in sight of the semis.
