The fine form shown by the Super Eagles in the last round of internationals has earned Nigeria an improved position on the FIFA rankings as they are now up to 44th on the list of best footballing Nations.
In the ranking table published on the website of the world football governing body on Thursday, Nigeria amassed 1431 points as against 1415 it had in September.
This improvement also places Nigeria third on the African team rankings only behind Tunisia and Senegal.
The top 5 in Africa includes, Tunisia ranked 22nd in the world, Senegal 25th, Congo DR ranked 46th and Morocco 47th.
Both victories recorded against Libya in the last round of AFCON 2019 qualifies, helped the Eagles soar on the recent rankings.
Belgium is now ranked as the best team in the world edging France by just one point, after both were tied on the top last month.
The Belgians have 1733 points and France has 1732 points with Brazil, Croatia and England respectively completing the top five.
