Nigeria will, on March 3, 2018, host the FIFA World Cup Trophy. This was confirmed by Mohammed Sanusi, Nigeria Football Federation’s General Secretary. He said the world governing body had listed Nigeria as one of the countries the trophy will visit as part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour.
The tour will hold from September 9, 2017 to June 7, 2018. Fans will have the opportunity of seeing the trophy as well as taking photographs with it.
Nigeria qualified for the tournament after beating Zambia 1-0 in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, on October 7, 2017. The draw for the group stages of the tournament will hold on December 1, 2017 in Russia.
