NiMet predicts sunny, thundery weather for Sunday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy and sunny weather conditions with chances of thundery activities over most parts of the country on Sunday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Saturday, predicted partly cloudy conditions over the central cities with day and night temperatures of 32 to 37 and 23 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

It added that there were chances of isolated thundery activities over Jalingo, Mambila, Lokoja, Makurdi and Lafia during the afternoon and evening hours.

The agency predicted that Northern States would experience partly cloudy to sunny conditions over the entire region during morning hours.

It also predicted sunny weather condition during the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 34 to 39 and 15 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Southern States will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are anticipated over the entire region during the morning hours.

“Later in the day, there are chances of scattered thunderstorms over the inland state, with thunderstorms over the coastal axis with day and night temperatures of 30 to 33 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Partly cloudy to sunny conditions are expected over the northern cities with chances of isolated thundery activities over the central states and scattered thunderstorms over the southern cities in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
