NNPC Mega Station razed by fire

A fire outbreak on Tuesday, reportedly gutted the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mega Station in Dutse, Jigawa State. This is as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria.wp-1452627209569.jpeg

An anonymous staff of the station, told NAN that a 40,000-liter tanker, which brought petroleum, caught fire while offloading.

The source said the incident happened at about 5.30 p.m.

“The good thing is that it did not affect anyone as those on duty ran for safety”, he said.

The source stated that they have not been able to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Men of the state fire service and Dutse International Airport rushed to the scene to put out the fire.

Effort to speak with the officials of the station failed as the supervisor of the station, Malam Balarabe could not be reached.

The State Commandant of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps, Muhammad Fari, who confirmed the incident, told NAN that he drafted his men to the scene of the incident.
