No certificate, no promotion – Kwara Government

Speaking in Ilorin on Monday, Kwara State Head of Service (HOS), Hajia Zara Omar, said teachers in public schools in the state have until the end of February to submit originals of their academic certificates as a condition to writing the 2017 promotion examinations.

Omar said that the certificate verification was a follow up to the recently concluded biometric verification by the State Personnel Database Development Committee.

She explained that the rule was also applied for the 2016 promotion examinations in the state.

She said that Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed had earlier announced that the staff verification would be followed by certificate authentication.

The Head of Service that the one month deadline given to the teachers was adequate for all affected personnel to contact their institutions whether located within or outside the country to obtain their credentials.

According to her, only duly authenticated certificates from academic institutions would be accepted and not statements of result and similar documents.

She, therefore, advised all workers to immediately start the process of obtaining and providing their original certificates.
