Ohaneze Ndigbo, an Igbo socio-cultural group, has told Igbos living in the north to make friends with northerners, so that the group can produce Nigeria’s President in 2023.
The call was issued on Sunday in a communique’ at the end of a meeting held in Minna, Niger State.
The statement restated the group’s resolve to promote one indivisible Nigeria, with equal opportunities for all. The group also urged Igbo residents in the north to live in harmony with their host communities.
The group further praised the contributions of John Nwodo, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, urging him to continue to defend the interest of the people.
Also at the meeting, the cultural group extended hands of fellowship to other International Igbo associations and called for more unity in the 2023 presidential aspiration.
Members of the group from the 19 northern states, representing 44 chapters attended the meeting.
