Shortly after appearances were announced, Mr Metuh was called to the dock. But while he was walking towards the dock, the former PDP spokesperson fell, creating an abrupt chaos in the court room.

Okon Abang, the presiding judge, had to stand down the matter to enable the former PDP spokesman receive medical attention.

After that, Abang said the trial would go on but Emeka Etiaba, counsel to Metuh, argued that the court could not go on when his client was lying on a stretcher.

“Since the court has insisted on proceeding with trial, I announce my withdrawal from the trial.”

However, Abang refused Etiaba’s withdrawal.
