Oshiomhole declared APC national chairman, 17 other unopposed candidates confirmed (See list)

Former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole was on Saturday, June 23, 2018, confirmed the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the Eagles Square in Abuja.

He was elected APC national chairman unopposed after all other candidates for the same position dropped their interest for the position.

Chief Clement Ebri, a former Governor of Cross River, who was the last rival standing, announced his withdrawal from the APC chairmanship race on Thursday, June, 21, 2018.

Ebri said he took the decision to withdraw after consulting with friends, family and associates in the interest of the party.

His withdrawal paved way for the former Edo state Governor to sail through.

The party said 18 positions were unopposed, and all were affirmed on Saturday.

The announcement was made by the chairman of the 2018 convention committee and governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru.
