PHOTO NEWS: Thousands of Catholics protest in Lagos, Abuja, Edo, Delta, other states over herdsmen killings

Catholics in Nigeria, on Tuesday took to the streets in major cities across the country to protest the killing of innocent Nigerians by suspected herdsmen.

Large number of protesters were seen in Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Edo, Delta and other major cities in the country.

In Lagos, over 5,000 Catholic faithful have stormed Alausa, the Lagos seat of power to protest massive killings of members and others in Northern Nigeria by herdsmen and others.

Roads leading to the State House, Ikeja were shutdown as the huge crowd took them over in a peaceful protest, which also took place simultaneously across the nation.

The entrance leading to the State House of Assembly was shut to prevent the protesters from gaining entrance, while government officials received the protesters at the gate.

The protesters were armed with placards, some of which read: “Bring these killers to justice now,” “Enough of this madness,” “Make Nigeria safe again,” “FGN stop the kidnapping,” “Stop this carnage,” among others.
