Few weeks after receiving its protest letter, a delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government – headed by Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo – on Monday, held talks with the nPDP delegation led by the President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, in Akinnola Aguda House.

In FG delegation are Lawal Shuaib, Deputy Chairman of the APC, Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, Deputy Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Ade Ipaye and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

On nPDP side are the President of the Senate Dr Bukola Saraki, Speaker Yakubu Dogara, Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal, Leader of the nPDP Kawu Baraje and Gov. Abdulfatai Ahmed of Kwara.

Others on the nPDP delegation are former Kano governor Senator Rabui Musa Kwakwanso, former Governor of Adamawa State Murtala Nyako, a former leader of the PDP Senator Barnabas Gemade, former governor of Gombe State Sen. Danjuma Goje and other House of Representatives members.

Speaking after the meeting with the vice-president, Kawu Baraje, spokesman of the group said: “Members of the nPDP had written a letter to the party copying the President and the Vice-President.
“So the party had invited us earlier on and now it is the turn of the Vice-President, probably the next one will be the President.”
“So far so good,” he said when asked if the nPDP members were satisfied with the discussion with Osinbajo.
He added: “We are looking forward to some of the promises. There will be other meetings because we have been put into subcommittees and then we will now identify specific and general problems and then we will proceed to see Mr. President. But it was a very good meeting.”
