The city of Benin in Edo State was on Tuesday thrown into a state of confusion as there was massive protest over the death of an unidentified taxi driver who was reportedly killed by a policeman.
It was reported that the policeman pushed the driver into an oncoming trailer which killed the driver, after he refused to give the officer N100 as bribe at a checkpoint.
According to an eyewitness the taxi driver pleaded with the officer, but the policeman refused, which led to an argument.
It was during the argument that the driver met his untimely death.
It was also gathered that residents of the area, have already set some police vans on fire.
