Marcus Rashford marked his 200th appearance for Manchester United with two goals in a 4-0 win over Norwich on Saturday, leaving his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer predicting he can get even better.

Striker Marcus Rashford struck in the 27th minute after a largely unrelenting United pressure with an instinctive finish from a Juan Mata deep cross.

Norwich’s best chance fell to midfielder Todd Cantwell at 1-0 on the stroke of half-time, but the England Under-21 international’s low curler was kept out by a stunning save from David de Gea.

Rashford went on to convert a penalty in the 52nd minute, after young left-back, Brandon Williams, was adjudged to have been brought down by Norwich goalkeeper, Tim Krul.

It was the 22-year-old England forward’s 13th league goal of the season and goal number 14 – his 19th in all competitions for the Red Devils.

Anthony Martial made it 3-0 in the 54th minute after he rose highest to nod in from another inch-perfect Mata cross following a short corner kick routine with Williams.

Youngster Mason Greenwood sealed the icing on the cake for the Old-Trafford club by driving a left-foot shot past Krul from the edge of the area in the 75th minute.

Williams should have scored for the hosts but somehow blazed his effort high into the Stretford End from two yards out with the goal gaping wide open.

The result sees United move back into fifth place, five points behind Chelsea, while Norwich remain rooted to the foot of the division.

Chelsea, meanwhile, continue to hold a grip of the fourth position after it defeated Burnley 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues took the lead in the 27th minute after Jorginho scored a penalty following a reckless tackle by Matt Lowton on Willian.

Tammy Abraham made it 2-0 with his 15th goal of the season after his close-range header in the 38th minute was not properly dealt with by Burnley goalkeeper, Nick Pope.

Winger Callum Hudson-Odoi secured the points for Chelsea at home four minutes into the second half when he slid in to finish off Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross.

Burnley have now suffered four defeats on the bounce, with today’s result leaving them 15th on the table and dragging them into the relegation battle.

Leicester’s bid to challenge Liverpool at the top of the table suffered a huge set back at they were defeated at 1-2 at home by a mid-placed team, Southampton.

Dennis Praet put the hosts in the lead at the King Power Stadium in the 14th minute after he tapped in from a Jamie Vardy cross.

However, Stuart Armstrong equalised for Southampton just five minutes later.

Danny Ings ensured that The Saints exacted sweet revenge for the 0-9 loss suffered in October in the hands of the same opponent after he scored the winner after being put through on goal by Che Adams, firing beyond goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Leicester thought they had salvaged a draw with a 90th-minute equaliser from Jonny Evans but VAR ruled it out for offside.

The shock win sees Southampton remain in 12th position, but move level on points with Everton and Arsenal, while Leicester remain second, but could lose the position should Manchester City win their game on Sunday.
