The Nigeria’s most read newspaper, The PUNCH, has been named the Newspaper of the Year for the second straight year at the Nigeria Media Merit Awards (NMMA)
Dr. Christopher Kolade, one of NNMA board of trustees, presented the award to the Chairman, Punch Nigeria Limited, Mr. Wale Aboderin, on Tuesday in Lagos at a ceremony, where the newspaper also won eight other awards.
Two weeks ago, The PUNCH had won the Newspaper of the Year and the Editor of the Year awards among others at the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME) in Lagos.
The paper won awards in aviation, insurance, business, real estate e.t.c. It won the Prize for Editorial Writing of the Year, beating other newspapers who bagged for the award.
