Algerian Football Federation has given Riyad Mahrez permission to leave the national team’s camp in order to complete a transfer from Leicester to “his new club”.

Leicester winger Mahrez, who is admired by Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea had expressed his desire to leave the King Power Stadium, with Roma having already had three bids rejected for the 26-year-old, the third being £32m.

The winner of the PFA Player of the Year in 2016 has been with the Algeria squad preparing for their upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header with Zambia, but the FAF has given him the green light to resolve his club future before the transfer deadline.
