After failing to score in his first 319 minutes of league action for Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo finally opened his goals account scoring two in 15 minutes in the Old Lady’s 2-1 home win against Sassuolo on Sunday.

In what was turning into another frustrating afternoon for the five-time FIFA Player of the Year winner after a goalless first half, Ronaldo eventually netted his first competitive goal for the Serie A champions in the 50th minute to put them 1-0 ahead.

The former Real Madrid star tapped the ball into the back of the net following a goalmouth scramble.

In the 65th minute, Ronaldo grabbed his second after drilling home into the far corner to make it 2-0.

Sassuolo pulled a goal back through Khouma Babacar in the 91st minute.

And late into the game Brazilian forward Douglas Costa was shown a straight red card clashing with a Sassuolo player.

It was Juventus’ fourth straight win of the season which saw them maintain top spot in the league table on 12 points.

Ronaldo’s two goals against Sassoulo means he has now scored 400 goals in 517 league games.
