Cristiano Ronaldo has been listed in Real Madrid’s squad to face Manchester United in UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday.
It was expected that the 32-year-old would miss the Super Cup clash in Skopje having missed first-team training following an extended leave due to Portugal’s run in the Confederations Cup in Russia this summer.
Manchester United sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid for £80m in 2009 and Jose Mourinho said last month re-signing the player was “mission impossible”.
Ronaldo signed a new-five year Real Madrid contract last November.
Following the UEFA Super Cup final against United, Real Madrid take on arch-rivals Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup first leg at the Nou Camp on Sunday night.
