Today is the day set for the legislative house elections petition tribunal sitting in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, to deliver its ruling in a petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, against Senator Bukola Saraki.
Abdulrazak is contesting the validity of the result that INEC declared for Kwara central senatorial district in the March 28 national assembly election, which saw the APC candidate, Senator Bukola Saraki declared winner.
The three-man tribunal is led by Justice Josiah Majebi. Abdulrazak, PDP candidate, claims that he won majority votes and he should be declared the winner.
In addition to this case, three other cases would be laid to rest by the tribunal today.
They are: Lola Ashiru vs Senator Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara South Senatorial District); Babatunde Olusola vs Olufunke Adedoyin and Tajudeen Abioye vs . Tope Olayonu. The last two are House of Representatives cases.
