Christopher Aurier, brother of Tottenham defender Serge Aurier, was on Monday morning shot dead on the streets of Toulouse, France.
The 26-year-old was pronounced dead in hospital.
Locals called the police after he was discovered lying on the street with a bullet wound to his stomach. The shooting, according to local media occurred near a late night establishment.
The deceased was also a footballer but never reached same heights as his brother. He was at Toulouse Rodeo, a fifth-tier club before his death. He once tried out at RC Lens and Brentford in 2011.
Christopher was, in 2007, arrested for stealing from a sex worker in Lille. He was said to have, along with another man, threatened the woman in her flat with a fake handgun and tear-gassed her after she refused to surrender her money.
Serge Aurier played in his club’s victory against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
