The supreme court of Nigeria has sacked Andy Uba and Stella Oduah from the Senate.
Both Stella Oduah and Andy Uba are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), from Anambra state. While Uba represented Anambra south senatorial district, the Oduah represented Anambra north senatorial district.
The latest judgement by the Supreme Court means that all the three PDP senators elected to represent Anambra state in the 8th assembly, have lost their seats, as the appeal court annulled the election of Uche Ekwunife of Anambra central, in October.
Ekwunife has since defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), where she is struggling to pick a ticket to return to the senate.
Andy Uba, who has been a two-time lawmaker, was former special adviser on domestic affairs to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, while Oduah was the former minister of aviation, who was embroiled in the controversy over the purchase of two bullet-proof BMW cars.
