The 10 ministerial nominees that scaled through senate on Tuesday

The screening of 37 ministerial nominees began on Tuesday, October 13, with ten of the nominees screened. This screening did not prove to be as tense as most persons had anticipated.Those screened on Tuesday: Chief Audu Ogbeh, Lt.- Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazzau, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma, Dr John Kayode Fayemi, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Dr Osagie Ehanire, Mrs Amina Mohammed, Mr Suleiman Adamu and Mr Ibrahim Jibril.

The ten ministerial nominees that were screened, form part of the 37 names sent to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari for screening and confirmation.

The screening, commenced after 30 minutes of closed door session, and lasted between 11.04 a.m. and 5.13 p.m.

The questions thrown to the nominees were asked ranged from corruption to insecurity, employment, health, agriculture, education and power among others.

Before the commencement of screening, three bills read on the floor of the Senate scaled first reading.

They are: Resolution of the National Assembly Compliance and Binding Effects Bill 2015, Rural Areas Development Agency (Establishment etc) Bill 2015 and Nigeria Solid Minerals Development Bank (Establishment etc) Bill 2015.

The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, announced at the end of plenary that more ministerial ministerial nominees would be screened on Wednesday, Oct.14.
