A woman on Thursday, killed three people and wounded two others at a drugstore distribution center in Harford County, Maryland, United States, officials said.
Law enforcement officers confirmed that the shooter is female.
The incident occurred at a Rite Aid support facility, about 30 miles northeast of Baltimore.
A police officer, Jefferey Gahler at a news conference said the suspect used a single handgun. According to Gahler, the suspect, who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
According to CNN, the police refused to answer questions, including how the suspect was injured.
“No law enforcement officers fired shots during their response,” he said.
Susan Henderson, the Rite Aid spokesperson, said about 1,000 employees work at the distribution center, where products are received and processed for delivery.
“The shooting happened adjacent to the primary building,” she said. “What I understand is the location is secure.”
Colleen Hendrickson, who lives and works in the area, said she was waiting for bus when someone told her there had been a shooting nearby.
