Mr. Ahmed Idris, the Accountant- General of the Federation, has expressed satisfaction at compliance level by Ministries, Departments and Agencies with the directive asking them to deposit remittances to the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
This was made known in a statement signed by Mrs Kenechukwu Offie, Deputy Director, Press, Office of the Accountant- General of the Federation (OAGF) in Abuja on Wednesday.
“At the close of business on Tuesday, Sept. 15, almost all MDAs, especially the revenue yielding ones have all complied with the Presidential directive to transit to the TSA,’’ the statement read.
The statement said that the compliance is an indication that Nigeria was at the threshold of a new era of transparent and accountable management of public finances.
Idris went further to commend all the MDAs that had complied with the directive on the transition to the TSA in view of the deadline.
He said erring MDAs will be sanctioned accordingly.
President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier directed that all MDAs deposit their remittances into a single account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on or before Tuesday, September 2015.
