A female staff member of Nigeria’s president’s office, Aso Rock, is undergoing treatment at the State House Clinic, after being injured by an accidental discharge from a gun belonging to an operative of Department of State Services, DSS.
Accounts given by eyewitnesses confirmed that that the incident occurred at the administrative block of the Villa.
The incident occurred when an operative of the Department of State Security (DSS) was attempting to empty his gun as requested by the security officers attached to the reception, since he was not among the security officers assigned to the reception.
In addition to the female worker, the security operative himself sustained injury in the incident, which created a mini-panic.
The woman was injured on her thigh and a part of her back.
