Unidentified gunmen early today attacked the Lagos residence of journalist, Steve Nwosu, whisking away his wife, Toyin. They are now demanding a ransom of N100 million.
The seven-man armed gang, three of whom scaled the fence of the building located at Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos, gained entrance through the sitting room window.
The armed men bundled Nwosu’s kids who were sleeping in the parlour and locked them inside a toilet, raided the house in search of money and other valuables, after which they ordered his wife to dress up and whisked her away in a speedboat through the canal opposite the house.
According to The Nation, the criminals had blindfolded Nwosu and wanted to abduct him but later opted for his wife.
Just two weeks ago, gunmen in Port Harcourt abducted Ms Donu Kogbara, a columnist for the Vanguard newspaper.
