A woman, Cordelia Ojuromi, was on Wednesday arraigned at the Ogba Magistrate Court after she allegedly hit her neighbour, James Idehin with a pressing iron thereby inflicting serious injury to his face.
It was gathered that Ojuromi and another accused at large, committed the alleged crime on the 13 of February, 2019 in Ikeja area of Lagos.
When asked by the Magistrate to narrate what happened, Ojuromi said while she was preparing to head to her shop, the wife of Idehin, as she normally does, started raining insults at her.
She said when she reacted, Idehin’s wife attacked her with a broom which led to fight. She stated that there are days when he woman, without provocation, will just be raining insults at her, calling her a prostitute.
And when the Magistrate asked her about the alleged pressing iron attack on the woman’s husband, she denied the allegation.
After listening to her, the Magistrate granted Ojuromi bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties. One of the sureties must be a blood relation.
The case was adjourned to 28 March, 2019.
