Borno State Deputy Governor, Zannah Umar Mustapha, has been confirmed dead. He reported died in his sleep, at a guest house in Yola, Adamawa State, in the early hours of today.
Zannah Umar was in Yola to represent his state governor, Kashim Shettima, at a function.
According to reports, Umar was discovered dead at about 8am this morning when his aides discovered that he had not woken up for early morning prayers, a strange situation.
It was gathered that his corpse has been deposited at the mortuary, while preparation is being made for his burial which will take place later today.
Zannah Umar’s death has been confirmed by the Governor of Borno State.
