The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has been criticized over his promises to Nigerians if elected President in 2023

The Labour minister had assured that Nigerians would see the dividends of democracy within two years if he is elected President in 2023.

The minister recently declared his intentions to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Condemning Ngige, Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, said may thunder not fire the longest-serving minister in Buhari’s cabinet.

In a tweet, Omokri lamented that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, teachers, and doctors have been on strike during Ngige’s time as minister.

According to Omokri: “Ngige said if he becomes President, Nigeria will feel his impact in just 2 years. For 7 years, Ngige has been Nigeria’s longest-serving labour minister. And we have seen his impact. ASUU on strike. Doctors on strike. Teachers on strike. May thunder not strike Ngige.”
