Okezie Ikpeazu, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the April 2015 Abia state governorship decision, has been evacuated as governor. 
Conveying judgment on the election petition, the court proclaimed Alex Otti of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) as winner of the governorship race, and requested his quick swearing in.
