President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the murder of Alex Badeh, a retired Chief of Defence Staff by unknown assailants.
Badeh, who retired as an Air Chief Marshall from the Nigerian Air Force, was killed along the Abuja-Keffi expressway while returning from his farm on Tuesday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Wednesday, President Buhari said the killing of Badeh was “very sad and unfortunate.”
The President offered his condolences to the slain ex-military chief, as well as his friends and professionals in the Nigerian military.
He also commiserated with the government and people of Adamawa State, where the former Air Chief Marshall hailed from.
President Buhari lamented that Badeh, who had served the Nigerian Air Force and Military committedly for over 30 years, was killed in such a brutal circumstance of violent attacks on the country’s roads.
He ordered security agencies to find the killers of the 15th Chief of Defence Staff and bring them to face the full force of the law, while ensuring greater security and safety for all users of the country’s roads.
