Ayo Oke, former director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), has been summoned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over the $43.45 million discovered in an Ikoyi apartment in Lagos state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, the commission said Folashade, wife of the intelligence officer, had also been invited.

President Muhammadu Buhari sacked Oke, citing the recommendation of the presidential panel set up to probe him after he was suspended.

Following the Sack of Oke, the president revealed he will not shield him from prosecution. Buhari also set up a committee to review the operations of the NIA.
