An inferno left a family of five dead on Tuesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, after engulfing their home.
Witnesses said the fire destroyed the house of the victims located at Ake area of the town, burning its occupants beyond recognition.
The cause of the fire cannot be ascertained at press time.
Those killed are 45-year-old Michael Oloroku, his wife, Elizabeth, 44, and their three children: Rachel, Victoria and Esther.
It was gathered that the damage had already been done by the time fire fighters arrived the scene.
A police team led by a Divisional Police Officer, Veronica Osakwe, visited the scene, and the bodies were evacuated to the state hospital, Abeokuta.
The State’s commissioner of police, Abdulmajeed Ali, sympathized with the affected family, and advised people to be careful or do away with inflammable substances.
