The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry owned tertiary institution, the Mountain Top University (MTU) is due for inauguration next Monday, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Elijah Ayolabi has said.
He said this at a news conference on Tuesday, adding that about 270 students will be admitted for the 2016/2017 academic session. He also mentioned that the university, though a faith based institution willing to accommodate students who are ready to comply with the university rules and regulations.
According to him, the university will kick off with two colleges, which include the College of Basic and Applied Sciences and Humanities, and Management and Social Sciences respectively. MTU is Located on KM 12 Lagos Ibadan expressway, the journey began 12 years ago but could not start operatio due to challenges particularly by National Universities Commission.
Ayolabi further explained that the resolve of the management to meet up with the NUC’s requirement of international standard had slowed down the official inauguration of the institution. However, on Tuesday, the Vice Chancellor heaved a sigh of relief as he reeled out events to inaugurate the fire brand university.
He said, “As an Information and Communication Technology-compliant university, students will be given mobile learning device on gratis with 24 hour electronic library resources.
We have also commenced collaborative discussion with some foreign universities and professional bodies in order to make our products employers of labour and most sought after in the labour market.” Though faith based, Ayolabi said the university would open her door to all provided students of varying religious affiliations can comply with their guidelines.
