Following the industrial action that began on Wednesday morning, as a direct result of the restructuring of the NNPC, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) staff union has suspended its industrial action, which shut down all facilities of the corporation on Wednesday.
The decision to suspend the industrial action was made by NNPC, via its Twitter handle, where it was said that the Union is ready to cooperate with the restructuring process.
“Sequel to exhaustive deliberations between our group managing director and PENGASSAN and NUPENG, the corporate-wide strike has been suspended,” the NNPC said Thursday on its Twitter account.
“The Group Executive Councils of PENGASSAN and NUPENG have resolved to support the restructuring and change process towards a #NewNNPC.”
