Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari and his Nigerien counterpart Mohammed Bazoum are currently engaged in bilateral talks at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Bazoum is visiting Nigeria for the second time since his election in February 2021.
The two leaders are expected to deliberate on how best to tackle security challenges affecting the sub-region.
The presidency had in a statement, said, President Bazoum’s visit is expected to last for a few hours, stressing that the neighbouring leader will be received with full military honours, including a 21-gun salute.
NAN reports that the visiting Nigerien president was also hosted for lunch by President Buhari on his one-day visit.
