Manchester United forward, Romelu Lukaku has revealed the half time team talk the team received after heading into the dressing room with a two goal lead at vicarage road against a Watford team that was unbeaten in the league as at kick off.
Speaking to BT sports Lukaku said. “The manager said to us we were playing well but not great, he made us humble at half time,’ “We ground the result out, that’s what we need to do, to catch the teams above us. Credit to Watford, we were too sloppy but it’s another win and we have to keep going” he said.
United had taking the lead through two quick goals from Lukaku and Chris Smalling, with the latter scoring an amazing volley. The Hornets fought hard to get back into game in the second half as Andre Gray’s beautiful goal looked to have brought Watford back into the game. It was not to be though, as United held on to make it two successful victories away from home.
