Obaseki Charges Corps Members To Be Positive Agents Of Change

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has charged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the State, to be positive agents of change by shunning all forms of vices that can impede national development.

Obaseki gave the charge on Monday at the occasion of the official closing ceremony of the 2018 batch “B” orientation course held at the NYSC Orientation camp, Okada, Ovia North East Local Government Area of the State.

The Governor who was represented at the occasion by the Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Mr. Mika Amanokha, Monday, tasked corps members to shun all forms of vices capable of impeding development as the nation undergo various reforms and developmental challenges in its politics.

While commending the corps members for accepting to serve and contribute their quota to the development of their fatherland, Obaseki reminded them that their contribution to nation building cannot be over-emphasized, as the scheme has launched them into the mainstream of socio-economic development of the nation.

He said: “Presently, our nation in general and Edo State in particular is undergoing various reforms and developmental challenges in their polity. With this in mind, you are expected to be part of the positive change by shunning all forms of vices that can impede development.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the State Coordinator, Mr. Adebayo Clement Ojo, thanked the State Governor for its support to the scheme.

He also commended the corps members for their cooperation and the high-level discipline exhibited throughout the period of their orientation course and expressed optimism that they would sustain same throughout their service year and beyond.
