The President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government has declared Tuesday 1st of October as public holiday to mark the 59th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.
This was in a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mrs Georgina Ehuriah.
According to her, Rauf Aregbesola, the Minister of Interior, made this declaration on the Federal Government’s behalf.
Aregbesola used the opportunity to congratulate all Nigerians, he assured Nigerians of peace and and also an end to insecurity in the country.
He also called on the citizens to support the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, as he plans to make the country secured and free from corruption.
In his words “As Nigerians, we should always remember that there is hope for our country and that we are blessed with both human and natural resources, tourism , cultural diversity, selfless spirit of unity and love for one another.
“As well as bonded brotherhood, all of which are potential we must exploit in the years ahead to make Nigeria the nation of our dreams”.
