Edgal Imohimi, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, on Wednesday led
operatives of the state command and other security agencies to publicly
destroy confiscated drugs, worth over N400 million in Ikorodu area of
the state.
Imohimi, who addressed the press at the site of the event, said the
drugs were seized from criminal during raids by the police and other
sources in the past year.
The destruction took place at the Elepe dumpsite in Ikorodu.
According to the CP, the seized drugs include Indian hemp, cocaine, codeine, tramadol and all kinds of psychoactive substances.
Imohimi said the step was in tandem with his vision to protect the lives of citizens of the state.
Also at the event include Commandant Tajudeen Balogun from Civil
defence; Major Akinwola, representative of 9th Brigade Commander,
Nigerian Army; Lieutenant E.H. Abagi, representative of the commander
BeeCroft; and Oluseye Oladejo, Lagos State Commissioner for Special
Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs.
