Three-year-old Oratilwe Hlongwane, also known as DJ Arch Junior, was on Sunday, 8th November, crowned the winner of South Africa’s Got Talent. imageThe talented toddler’s father Glen is also a part-time DJ and a professional gymnastics teacher walked away from the talent show with a whooping $35,000 prize money.

His mother, Refiloe Marumo, credited his astounding success to his father Glen Hlongwane’s decision to buy an iPad for his then unborn son.

Mr Hlongwane had planned to download educational apps to help his child’s education but also downloaded a disc jockeying app for himself. But when he was just one-year-old, the talented youngster learned to use the gadget and started fiddling about with his father’s DJ app.

He is the youngest DJ so far and he rose to stardom in December after his father posted videos of him mixing a popular house tune and it went viral. Glen and Refiloe said Keri Hilson, The Game , Bow Wow, among others recognised his star power.

“They saw his video and posted about him on twitter saying this kid is going to be famous,”

Shortly after his son’s win, Mr Hlongwane admitted he was “blown away” by his performance.

“You know, for a three-year-old I’m just blown away. Never mind him winning the competition, the fact he stood on stage, did a set, finished it and still clicked stop. I don’t know any other three year olds who would stand there without their parents.”

Hlongwane, however,  insists his son is just a regular kid who attends creche and enjoys being outdoors with his friends.

DJ Arch has been booked for his first international gig- Botswana’s Annual Kid Festival which will be held this coming weekend.
