Two girls identified to be among the remaining 98 Chibok school girls have escaped from their captors in the Sambisa Forest in Borno State.

Sources who spoke with Daily Trust said that the escape was a result of intense military operations in the forest.

Meanwhile, following probes, a security source identified the escapees as Hauwa Mutah and Esther Markus.

The source said, “One is from Chibok and the other one from Dzilang village,” he said.

This has reduced the number of Chibok schoolgirls in captivity from 98 to 96.
