The presidency however explained via its Twitter account that President Buhari called the meeting to brief the duo of Saraki and Dogara on efforts by his government in addressing the issue.

Meanwhile, the Senate ad hoc committee on security is currently in Benue state on a fact-finding mission over the killings and destruction by herdsmen in the state.

The visit is as a result of a directive from the Senate president for members of the committee to immediately resume sitting and work through the weekend to ensure they have an interim report ready for the consideration of senators by next week.
