Sarri gives update on Kovacic’s injury

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has given an update on the injury of in form Croatian midfielder Matteo Kovacic. The player limped off agonizingly as he was substituted with over 40 minutes left to play in the Blues weekend fixture against Cardiff City at Stamford bridge.

Speaking to sports journalist after the match, the Chelsea manager offered positive updates on the injury scare describing it as “not serious”. he further commended the teams performance in the game.

“I’m very happy because I thought the beginning for me would be very difficult. I’m lucky because I have a good team, good players, not only one. I’m very happy with my team, I’m happy to be here in the Premier League.” He said.

Chelsea came back from a goal down to sum up a comprehensive 4:1 victory with Eden hazard completing a hat trick and Willian scoring late on to make it five from five this season.

Kovacic himself should have scored a couple of goals in the game before going off, but this update will be good news to Blues fans as the dynamic midfielder on loan from Real Madrid has settled in well in London. The European fixtures gets on the way in mid week and all top clubs will look to have all their players in good shape as the fixtures begin to pile up.
